An update

Just an update on what's happening with me for the past one week.

Monday :
Nothing much. Classes and lectures. Can't really remember whether I cooked on that night. Haha

Tuesday :
The same routine. Only thing that the lectures dragged on till about 6-7 ish. I left early though. Went back home - it's always a pleasure to go back. I love my room! It's getting kind of messy there though.

Wednesday :
My supposed-to-be-free day, but I have spanish class on that day. The 2 hours there was pretty fun - I like my spanish teacher. His name is Jorge - pronounced as Hor-He (with Hor said like you're gathering up saliva to spit at someone/something) Haha

Thursday :
One class one lecture. Kind of a day to turn the working mood back up slowly. Getting ready for my 5 hours lectures tomorrow.

-Random note : I just realised that my Xmas tree is still up. It's a small tree standing in one corner of my table. It's still there. haha - I'd better put it aside later.

Friday :
5 hours! Argh! But it's the weekend so I had a relaxing Friday night everyweek. Chilling out and all.

Satuday :
I know that Saturday is suppose to be the day where you hang out and relax - But I'm doing homework on that day. Sigh - my depressed social life has been downgraded to a point where I might just have to talk to my Xmas tree just for the sake of companionship.

Random Note : I need to go to the toilet now... Someone's in the toilet now - Have to wait. Sigh

Sunday :
The past Sunday and today had been quite inspiring. The message on those days were pretty good and I was glad to hear them. The one last week ended with a story of a hymn - I knew about the hymn but had no idea of the story behind it. Here's a look at it :

I really enjoyed singing the hymn after the message. It's so nice! Today we sang a hymn - which I also managed to get on youtube. When I call on Your Name by Ben Cantelon. An addictive tune with a powerful message. It is the first song of the video :

After church we (Me and Michelle) were off to Hyde Park (for some unknown reason but it was labeled as 'socialize') to meet with some of our OCF groupmates or grouppies.

It was seriously windy and cold in the park and all I wanted to do was to go home and cover up in my comforters! Ugh. Sigh - we ended up playing ultimate frisbee. It was really fun, surprisingly. Haha but I felt like a dog after a while in the game. :P Then we tried to take a picture of all of us jumping. The problem was that the camera's timer didn't indicate when the picture would be taken. So in the end you get a bunch of people jumping up and down for about 5 seconds. Hahaha, really lame...

It had been a great week so far - hope for more to come! :)

I got it from my mamak

Inspired from cyclonova, this song is really a great parody... JJ and Rudy have done Malaysia and mamak proud. Haha. I tried writing out the lyrics - the italic parts are grey areas for me. Comment if you think you have the correct lyrics. Enjoy!

Les Arcs Skiing Trip

From the 15th - 23rd of Dec 2007, I was away and off to France where I skiied and fell and got up and continued skiing again. Pictures are available in Facebook and in Michelle's multiply. (a facebook or multiply account might be needed though) Pictures tell a 1000 words so I shan't bother telling what happened there in Les Arcs. Overall, I had a great time there and gladly I learnt a few new things when I was up there on the Alps.

1. Never identify your girlfriend through what head gear she's wearing. Someone else might be wearing the same thing.

2. Don't assume that just because french people are tall, everything else is tall as well. The petrol machines are definately much shorter compared to the ones at home.

3. Do not overrate French Food. Especially when it comes to breakfast. (but it was buffet, so that was a good thing!)

4. Do not pose with snow thrown by others in an attempt to create a snowing effect. You'll most probably end up getting hurt.

5. Never order shots with really weird (in a dirty sort of way) names. They might not taste that good after all. Stick with pure spirits, you can't go wrong with that.

6. Try not to over drink in French pubs. You might not know (or remember) what sort of pictures you're getting into.

7. Do not carry more than you can handle. It will be too much for you. hahah

Or else . . .

video

8. Always were proper gear when skiing in the Alps. Proper in this case means stylish, comfortable and makes you look good. Hehe

9. Lastly, you must always take a picture with a local girl - just for remembrance sake. It will definately make your trip a much memorable one.

So I think I learnt a lot during my trip there. It was a great time while it lasted. I would go again this winter - but I think I'll just head back to Malaysia. Enough of spending winter away from home - I wanna be home for Christmas this year. :)

Carnival in Hyde Park

Last week, me and Michelle were at Hyde Park - London's largest park, and coincidentally, there was a winter carnival there as well. Tonnes of people walking around, people of all ages all gathered there to look around, shop around, sit the rides and just have a good time.

This was a really big ice slide. People would pay 2 pound just to climb up and then slide down in a float on an ice slide. Just shows how deprived some people can be. Lolz - moving on...

Another ferris wheel, seriously I'm getting bored of seeing all of these attractions. It's like the in thing nowadays. Why must every place utilise the same thing to attract people? Ugh, is it even that nice? ah well.

Here's a kid's ride that looks like the one in Genting. Or . . . can it be a handicap lift that conviniently brings people up for a better view? You take your pic.. lolz (I made a pun! oh yea!)

Now this one - I don't know who would want to pay money just to climb up a slide and slide around it down. I mean - seriously, how could anyone be so desperate to go down a slide? How deprived can a person's childhood actually get? . . . It is quite high up and it has lights. Hmmm. Lolz - I might try that if I had more cash with me. hehe ^^

Hahahaa - no comment. Her expression here is priceless. I don't exactly know what she's trying to express here. Hahaha - I laugh everytime I see this. Shock from the amount of sweets here or an orgasmic feeling surging in? hhahahaa

This here is the Haunted Mansion. OoOooo... For just a small amount of four (freaking) pounds per person, you get the scare of your life! right... this was the only ride with a line - I thought it was naturally the most popular - so wth, we went on it... 8 pounds flew away *sigh*

While waiting, we were greeted by this old ugly looking servant trying to look spooky. He was carrying a tray - almost as if he was serving it to us. Looked really gross though. Serving something dead like that... ewww...

And so - there we were - all set in one of the moving cubicles. And we were brought into the Haunted Mansion. In the darkness - screams were heard, faint light were seen and in the darkest shadows lied many untold nightmares.

Overall, that was the most BORING 1 minute of my life! OMG - not scary at all, and 8 pounds gone! ARGH... A kid wouldn't get scared at all. ah well, it was an experience anyway.

Then we went walking in Hyde Park, exploring the other part of it. Michelle here posing with ducks. Apparently these ducks were owned by the Queen herself and anyone attempting to hurt the ducks would be prosecuted. Cool eh? haha

We took a bus back after walking in the park - a great day. ^^

New Year Celebration

Ok, so I'm a little late posting about this. But this year's celebration took place in Kwokwei's, Jeff's and Yin's place. thanks guys for the invite. The apartment had an unblocked view of london eye - so we enjoyed the fireworks without needing to crowded out with the other thousands of people. But getting there on new year's eve was difficult enough. Many of the roads were blocked so we had to navigate through lots of different routes before finally calling the host and asked them to come and get us. Haha - but we managed to get there in time before the fireworks started.

When we got there, we had some of the dinner (most likely leftovers) and drinks! (definately alcoholic) Haha, then came the fireworks! It was definately beautiful and loud! and it caused a huge smoke/fog and soon completely covered all the fireworks. lolz.. check out the fireworks here :

Yes, a lot of noise made both from us and the fireworks. I think more was from us. Anyways, then we had lots of drinks and played several drinking games - that got me even more drunk.. haha. What a way to start the new year...

A nice group picture after all those drinking games - it's just that I don't REMEMBER being in that picture! OMG

Or even this picture to be frank. Apparently I was sitting on jiapin's lap - I seriously don't remember that.. lolz

Or even this picture. I don't remember at all! The girl at the bottom left is of course the environmentalist. Someone who's so obsessed with the environment that she probably cried when the sky was fogged up from all those fireworks. -_-;;

And finally this pic - I think I might recall bits and pieces of this one. I remember sleeping somewhere, only that it might not be here. Haha (I also remembered puking.. hehe). All in all it was a good year! Happy New Year people! Have a great year ahead.

Mouse Hunters

A tragedy occured while entering into the new year. No news or evidence could prove the time of the tragedy but one thing is certain, it cannot be reversed. About a week prior to the event, a trap was set to get rid of a certain type of rodent. To be more exact, a mouse.

And so the trap was set. The bait was cheese, a classic favourite for a mouse. No one heard the trap being set off. No one saw the trap out of place for at least a whole day or two. But when the trap was found, the mouse laid motionless.

I was pretty sure that it died instantly and painless. Its eyes were still open when it was found. The bait, well it was untouched. The spring snapped quickly and slammed hard. So hard that its whole body was completely flatten. Bones broken and organs dispositioned. Truly a gruesome death.

And so ends the life of a rodent. We sent it off to its burial in a trash bin. Then we set up a new trap - Who will be the next unlucky one? Find out soon in the next post of . . . MOUSE HUNTERS!

A food post

On the second day of the new year, me and michelle went for a dimsum lunch in chinatown, a great way to start 2008. The choice venue was Chinese Experience - simply because it offered half price on all dimsum orders. The dimsum there was definately better than most of the dimsum I've savoured in Malaysia, it was a Hong Kong restaurant btw. So there we were, wondering what to eat and started writing our orders down. The ordering system was very similliar to Wong Kok Char Chan Teng in Malaysia.

OK, enough of that - I was really hungry that time (3.30pm) mainly because I haven't eaten anything for the whole day. Here's what we ate! Photos! Muahaha

This dish tasted averagely ok. Michelle said that the Seremban Siew Pau tasted better. I would have to agree. None the less, it was a good appetiser.

The classic! A must order in a dimsum shop - the portions served here was really big and fresh. Wanted to get another helping of this but I wanted to try other dishes that they served here. FYI, Michelle took 3 of this - I only managed to get one.

And she only took one of this while I got 3. Fair enough I guess. The har gao here is again huge and fresh. The prawns were steamed long enough for it to feel soft yet juicy. A must order as well.

Imagine biting into a dumpling only to have delicious warm broth pouring down your throat. Then imagine the meat in your mouth, tasting like the best thing that has ever entered your mouth. It definately taste better than it looks. Don't Judge a Book by its Cover.

It's not exactly called loh mai kai - but it bears many similliarities to it. I believe it was Rice and Meat in Lotus leaf wrap. The rice absorbed the flavour and smell from the lotus leaves, leaving it aromatics and delicious by itself. Add in the meat and you get a really beautiful combination of different flavours.

Fried sweet potatoes. Much like the ones you can get in Cameron Highlands. This sweet dish was a great desserts to wrap up a good meal. But we were still hungry at that point. So on to the next dish!

Hong Kong Char Siew Chee Chung Fun. It was generously filled with large chunks of char siew and was generally big in portion. This was undoubtably more than just a snack.

This last one was because of michelle's cravings. She just wanted to eat chicken legs at that time. But to be honest, it tasted pretty good. I only had the beancurd, not the legs so I can't say much about how the chicken legs tasted like.

All in all it only costed us 16 pounds. Not a bad price for a fillingly delicious meal. And so that was our trip to a dimsum lunch at Chinese Experience. Looking forward to more of this in the future.
