The heat wave
London has reached Bangkok's level of heat and according to BBC - in one case, 4 dogs died in a car... the cause? They were boiled alive... OMG If it were to happen in Vietnam then it's dinner done for the family but here, nope. I pity the owners but yea I pity the dogs even more. Sad way to die.
Lucky for me I have a stand fan working almost all the time I'm in the room, to my room seems to be doing just fine. I really don't dare to go out and play in the sun cos seriously - it's freaking hot right now and the only place I can find some relief would be the shopping malls (hence the Westfield visit and the purchasing of the soon to be cooked Ostrich egg).
I know I mentioned earlier that I won't talk about the Wimbledon trip but I feel like I should do otherwise - I mean it's currently on going and I should say something about it...
It all started off with an amazingly early trip with the tube to Wimbledon, which upon arrival - we got off and headed off to a large field to line up to get tickets (you'd get a ticket with a number). The number I got was 7787 - which meant about 7786 people would go in before I did. We were there from about 8.45am... we reached the end of the line at about 12.45pm. So yea, a long wait - and a lot of time wasting. You would think that I would then have entered the arena and started watching tennis...
Wrong... being Malaysians, there must be at least ONE person late - and because of that he got a larger number. Lehong got 82 something something. 500 places behind... OMG -_-;; Being the one least interested in tennis, I opted to stay behind to wait with him - we had emo talks for about 2 hours before finally one of the stewards let us in. God bless him! He was such a nice old man, may he have a long and prosperous life ahead :)
Finally, we got in and then began our Wimbledon journey...
The time that we got in - it's a Rolex, the official sponsor for time keeping for Wimbledon 09
Check out his butt posture, it's so interesting to see them serve... this was our first match, a pretty close one - and from where we were seating, we could see how fast the balls were travelling...
The seating here was pretty chilled out - with people just relaxing on the lawn, enjoying the game...
This was the first court that we were on... Delgado and Marray won in the end... But the real highlight of the game was this...
The ball picker... :)
We... stayed until the end of the game of course... we really enjoyed this game here... the first - the best
We had pizzas for lunch afterwards... and then - Beer! nothing else beats it in such a hot weather...
And then proceeded to do some solo shots... introducing - the Group!
Lehong...
Kwok Wei
Khai Ven
Ice Shaun...
Next match - ladies are up...
The serve...
The return...
The smile...
The end...
Overall - it was fun to get out of the house, fun outing... Thanks KV for the invite. Btw, there were 3 other people in the outing (michelle, eevien, changjin) but they went off and did their own thing...
Lastly, here's the pic that defines the trip for us... The Wimbledon Pose...
Lehong with the serve...
KV with the forehand...
Ice with the backhand...
Kwok with the slice...
